Sweatshirt Make Over and Keith's Cool Easter pants!

Okay so I know it's not Wednesday but it's Thursday, which means I am only one day late with my post.  I was under the weather over the weekend and have had a slow start to my week.  Plus there are these things called household chores that have gotten in the way!  Nonetheless I have found a few moments to make over a sweatshirt I had as well as finishing up Keith's Easter pants.

I noted last week I have started to purge the closet, spring cleaning it if you will.  When I did I came across this sweatshirt that I love the color but not the bulky look of it.  I apologize because I started cutting it up and forgot to take pictures along the way.  If you can imagine any sweatshirt and cutting it into a cardigan shape, that is pretty much what I did and here is what I came up with.

The other project was to finish Keith's Easter pants and bowtie.  I am still working on a hat for him too.  Here is the outfit so far.  I put pockets on the front and back to make them look a little more pant-like rather than just a pull-on.

Nice little face, huh?

Hope you enjoy these projects.  I am getting very excited for Easter.  It's truly a favorite holiday for many reasons but most importantly because our Lord and Savior gave his son for us and he rose from the grave so that I might also have life.  How perfectly wonderful and gracious is our Lord.  It is also the time of year I hear and sing one of my two very favorite hymns, "Because He Lives'.  I just love the words:

God sent His son, they called Him Jesus
He came to love, heal, and forgive.
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living just because He lives.

How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives.
But greater still the calm assurance,
This child can face uncertain days because He lives.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living just because He lives.

And then one day I'll cross the river,
I'll fight life's final war with pain.
And then as death gives way to victory,
I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone!
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living just because He lives!

I hope you will be blessed this Easter season.

I try to respond to all the comments left on my blog via email, but if your email address is not available, I can't! As far as where I antique/thrift shop...I don't consistently hit any particular shop, but I do like to browse thru the shops in our local downtown area. Also like to hit the Goodwill shops in Carbondale & Marion. Hope that answers your question! Look forward to chatting with you via email! :)
