Crafty Weekend

Since I had not sewed or crafted in a week, I was having some serious withdrawal!  Since Friday morning I have done a couple projects I wanted to share with you.  I have been seriously busy cleaning out my closets including the laundry room and my own closet.  With that said, my first project was the laundry room closet.  I was disappointed that I didn't have any sturdier paper or canvas material that would have better covered the boxes but for now this will do.

Old shoe boxes, scissors, glue stick and heavy wrapping paper.  I wish I would have had the spray adhesive and a canvas to cover with but I was doing it "shopping" free.

Scrapbook paper, white paint stick, buttons, and craft scissors.

Label for the box front so everyone can find stuff when they get a notion to clean!

Laundry cabinet

My fave of the project, the clothes pin jar made from an old ball jar found at my Grandma's house.

Cabinet shoved full again but a little more organized.

The surprise of the weekend was dinner with my husband at Walker's Bluff's restraurant "Legends" http://www.walkersbluff.com/).  I was super excited because I finally had a chance to wear my new skirt, custom made by Patti Rath at P. Rath Couture (http://prathcouture.com/) I happen to have an old headband that matched the material.  So in my crafty mode, I decided to refashion it for the outfit.  Enjoy...I did!
old headband

I cut the ends off and folded them over almost like when you make paper snowflakes.  Then I cut  half circles to make the flower shape.  I decided the silver on silver was too much and I needed contrast, so I cut up an old shiny trouser sock.  Did I mention my challenge for the weekend was to NOT spend a dime on crafting? And....

Here is the new headband!  So much more fun then the plain one, don't you think?

And wearing it!

The whole outfit...having fun for Patti of course.

The more serious "Rebekah"  pose!
Finally, I have been wanting to try out this hat I found at U-Create (http://www.u-createcrafts.com/) The tutorial is at At Second Street  (http://atsecondstreet.blogspot.com/2010/05/t-shirt-hat.html).  I had fun making it despite the fact I am very very much under the weather today.  It was an easy tutorial that made a good distraction.  Check it out.

So this is all for the weekend...until Wednesday, happy crafting!
